My name is Joa Brance McDaniel and I live in Frankfort, Kentucky. My love of photography came out of necessity. Let's just say I did not get my photography skills from my parents. Growing up there weren't many pictures taken of my three siblings and me. When there were pictures taken of us, my mom never seemed to think tops of heads, arms, legs and other vital body parts were important in pictures.
Even though the pictures were few and far between, the ones I do have of my childhood (even though not all body parts are present) have always been very important.
I was handed my first camera in high school. I never thought when I joined Year Book it would start a life long passion. As the years went by life happened and my attention was focused on other things. i.e.: graduating college, finding the man of my dreams, finding a job, getting married
Eight years ago my husband gave me the best Christmas present ever. A Camera! Since that day I have been obsessed with learning my camera and the ins and outs of photography. I'm sure my husband didn't know the monster he was creating at the time. After chasing around my cat and dog with the camera I decided to take my talent to the streets.
I love capturing special moments in peoples' lives. I also don't think life should be posed so my style tends to lean towards lifestyle photography.
